Bratz Online is a vehicle for promoting the Bratz line of dolls, music, movies, toys and television shows.
The characters are all about shopping and buying and more shopping and buying.
Sign Up
Kids can sign up and access the Bratz site for free, but to enjoy the extra features you are required to buy a necklace/USB key, which comes with the $30 dolls in order to play.
Bratz dolls can be purchased online or at the following retail stores: Amazon, Macy’s, and Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Toys R Us, K Mart, etoys and others.
Features for Kids
Bratz online has many fun and fabulous interactive features for kids such as games, downloads, horoscopes, e-cards, art studio, quizzes, videos and music and more.
Out of all the different and fun features on the site one of our favorites is the Fashion Pixies, where you can watch the official movie trailer, take a quiz about the movie and more.
Parent Features & Concerns
Over the years parents have grown to love or hate Bratz Dolls. The site is an extension of the Bratz brand and all about the next mall crawl, prom night or slumber party. On the site, girls are encouraged to buy Bratz merchandise and revel in the world of all things trivial such as fashion accessories and makeup.
Many parents have voiced opinions about the character’s unrealistic body figures (tiny waists and large lips) and how it may cause girls to develop a skewed idea of what “real” girls and figures are supposed to look like.
From a parent’s perspective I tend to agree, of all the social networking sites for kids Bratz is my least favorite site for kids under the age of at least 13. I am not shy to spending money and I definitely want my daughter to be fashionable and have fun. That said, I find the whole idea of “Bratz” to be a little over the top. The problem is these girls aren’t like the “pets” on other sites and so they are more realistic to girls and yet some of the features are very unrealistic of “real” life girls.
